The fact that Philipp Schiepek sounds more lyrical than almost anyone else even on an electric Stratocaster is certainly not least due to the fact that he is one of the very few jazz guitarists to have also studied classical guitar with its completely different playing technique and masters it equally well. His versatility, his musicality, his exceptionally beautiful tone, but also his compositional power have earned the 30-year-old from Dinkelbühl a reputation as one of the best jazz musicians of his generation and made him one of the most sought-after accompanists. In his own projects, Schiepek particularly enjoys working at the space between classical music and jazz. This was already the case on the magnificent duet album "Cathedral" with the pianist Walter Lang, who tragically died shortly afterwards. Now on the new album "Versuch zu Träumen", whose presentation as the first release of the label Wooden Waggon Records, founded by him and his sister, he is now celebrating at the Bayerischer Hof. Dreams as a window to our deepest thoughts and the source of our creativity - this theme runs through all the pieces, which he masterfully stages with his internationally experienced and award-winning companions Robert Landfermann and Bastian Jütte.
