Born to a Persian father and a German mother, Kaye-Ree felt trapped between cultures for a long time. Music and singing became her home, her means of communication. Early role models were pop stars such as Whitney Houston, Lauryn Hill, India.Arie and Stevie Wonder - in whose backing choir she was later allowed to sing -, but gradually other influences such as R'n'B, jazz and hip-hop were added. This, along with her interest in American and Persian literature, ultimately formed her own cross-genre style, which an American journalist once called „global soul“. Kaye-Ree has performed at the „International Soul Music Summit“ in Atlanta as well as at the Africa Festival in Aschaffenburg and in the legendary London jazz club „Ronnie Scotts“. And cut a convincing figure as an opener for Busta Rhymes, Kurtis Blow or Reamonn as well as with the SWR Big Band, on „The Voice of Germany 2018“ or just recently as a special guest at the „Loud & Proud Munich Special“ of the Jazz Summer at the Hotel Bayerischer Hof. Now she is returning to the Nightclub stage with her own band and the new album „Growth“.
